Plenary talk: Electrochemical capacitors: from materials design to device fabrication

Mir F. Mousavi is professor of Chemistry at Tarbiat Modares University (TMU). He has been listed as one of the Leading Scientists and Engineers in the OIC Member States in 2006, and an ISI (ESI) scientist (Top 1% Most Cited Scientist) in 2007. Prof. Mousavi has been recognized as the First Laureate in Modern Technology at the 14th Annual Razi International Research Festival in 2008, and has received many awards including the ISESCO Award in 2008, the Iranian Nanotechnology Society (INS) Award in 2009, the Iranian Chemical Society (ICS) Award for Distinguished Professor of Chemistry in 2011, and the National Distinguished Professor Award in 2019. He is a member of many academies, including the American Chemical Society (ACS), the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), the Iranian Chemical Society (ICS), the Iranian Nanotechnology Society (INS), and was elected as a Regional Representative for ISE from 2007 to 2012. Prof. Mousavi has been a Visiting Professor in Prof. Richard Kaner’s laboratory at UCLA from 2013-14, and is professor of Zhejiang University of Technology, China, since 2019. His current research interests involve experimental and theoretical studies of advanced nanostructured materials and technologies for energy storage and conversion devices, including rechargeable batteries, supercapacitors, as well as hybrid systems.

Dr. Naader Alizadeh is currently a professor of analytical chemistry with a specialty in exchange kinetics and electrochemical studies of micellization in Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran. His research interests cover chemical and electrochemical synthesis of nano-structure conducting polymers and its applications in chemical sensors (potentiometry and optical selective sensors based on conducting polymers for the monitoring of anions in solution and volatile organic compounds in gas phase) and microextraction methods. Recently, Professor N. Alizadeh and his research groups prepared selective conducting sorbents for electrochemical drug delivery study and electrochemically controlled solid phase microextraction and analysis of some drugs and amino acids in biological samples. These activities were accomplished using the techniques of spectroscopy (UV–vis, Fluorescence, IR, NMR and Ion Mobility Spectrometry) and electrochemical testing. In addition, his research group’s were applied different coating methods such as chemical, electrochemical, vapor deposition and electrospining of soluble conducting polymer films preparation.

Maryam Jafari is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Physical Chemistry at Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran. She received her BSc in pure Chemistry and MSc degree in Physical Chemistry from the Bu-Ali Sina University, Hamedan. Her current research interest mainly is focused on the design of advanced electrochemical energy materials like MOF-derived heteroatom-doped porous carbon electrocatalysts for ORR, and their applications for fuel cells.

Dr. Seyedeh Zeinab Mousavisani is a Ph.D in analytical chemistry, University of Mazandaran, Babolsar, Iran. She received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in applied chemistry and Analytical chemistry from University of Mazandaran, Babolsar, Iran, in 2009 and 2012, respectively. Dr. Mousavisani has been a visiting Ph.D student in Prof. A.p. Turner Laboratory.  From 2017-2018 at Linkoping University, Sweden.  Her research interests are DNA biosensors and fuel cells
